The Avesnois offers a tranquil natural environment that is ideal for walkers, coupled with a fascinating historic past. Its robust churches, imposing farm buildings and fortified towns are there to testify that this historical land has always had a strong spirit of resistance.

The riches of the Avesnois have shaped its landscapes and constructed its identity.

On the strength of its remarkable heritage, it was admitted into the large family of French "regional natural parks" in 1998. Set out to discover the secrets of the Avesnois – you won’t be disappointed!

The Avesnois is full of meandering country lanes where you can really get away from it all! Watch out for the many shrines and oratories that punctuate the rolling countryside and feel the magic of the place. Wander through hamlets and villages with their typical bandstands and where the numerous artists and artisans of the Avesnois are proof that traditional know-how and skills are very much kept alive here.

Sharing good times is also important here, whether in tasting the abundance of local produce or browsingaround the many flea markets, country fairs and festivals.

Open all year, the station offers a wide range of accommodation, services and activities, which vary according to the season.

Around the shores of the largest lake north of Paris, the ValJoly tourist station has something for everybody: secluded accommodation between the lake and the forest, a wide range of outdoor activities, a covered Aquatic centre, restaurants and shops. It is an ideal centre from which to explore the Avesnois.

The Maison du ValJoly is a mine of information

This tourist information and ValJoly reservation centre will provide you with the answers to all your questions about the Avesnois and its attractions as well as information about the accommodation, activities and facilities to be found at the station itself.
The Maison du ValJoly is open all year round.

The PassJoly is a badge that can be loaded with «Units», which you then use to participate in a wide variety of activities offered in the Station. It also gives you access to certain tourist attractions in the region and to the closest cinema...
